Realizou-se entre os dias 13 e 19 de Outubro de 2008 a 5ª Feira/Mostra da Reciclagem no Forum Romeira em Alenquer. O evento foi promovido pela RESIOESTE, empresa que faz a valorização e tratamento de resíduos sólidos e urbanos de 14 Municípios da zona do Oeste.
O evento primou pela participação de vários artesãos, cuja actividade se centra na criação de peças de artesanato a partir de materiais reciclados; mas foi fraca a nível da participação de público. Talvez por falta de sensibilização das pessoas para o problema da reciclagem e ligarem reciclagem a lixo, e lixo não lhes interessa.
Lixo, só é se assim o entendermos. A palavra lixo só existe na mente das pessoas; para mim não existe - o que existe é matéria - que o ser humano pode utilizar como matéria prima e orgânica.
